N.Y. Islanders sign G Martin Biron for one year, $1.4 million
By Dmitriy Richter

The NHL's worst team in 2008-09 is making sure their Gorton's Fisherman's net stays as empty as possible this coming season.
This time, the New York Islanders are not taking any chances on Rick DiPietro's health. After signing free agent Dwayne Roloson for 2 years and $5 million, the Islanders followed up on Tuesday by signing former Philadelphia Flyers stopper Martin Biron to a one year, $1.4 million contract.
Biron went 29-19-5 with the Flyers this past season, posting 2.76 GAA and a 91.5% save percentage. In Philly he alternated between starting and sharing time with Antero Niittymaki, so Biron shouldn't be too distraught by splitting time with Dwayne Roloson.
Which may actually be good for both of their egos, since both will most likely spend their seasons getting lit up like Christmas trees thanks to the Islanders' "defense".
